should I get my hair cut?

Hmm...getting a cut would be drastic. So whatever you go for you will likely feel uncomfortable with until you get used to it.

I'll refrain from voicing my personal opinion and ask you this:

What prompted you to ask this question?

Are you just looking for a different look? Did you get turned down for a job? Did some old lady yell at you and call you a hippie? Were you harassed by the police? Did the greeter at Walmart refuse you entry? All of the above?

Well?

I'm just kind of looking for a different look.

No real reason, it's just something I'd do for myself. I wouldn't care if an old lady called me a hippy.

just looking for suggestions.

Almost cut my hair
It happened just the other day
It was getting kind of long
I could have said it was in my way

But I didn't and I wonder why
I feel like letting my freak flag fly
And I feel like I owe it to someone

Must be because I had the flu for Christmas
And I'm not feeling up to par
It increases my paranoia
Like looking into a mirror and seeing a police car

But I'm not giving in an inch to fear
Cos I promised myself this year
I feel like I owe it to someone

When I finally get myself together
I'm gonna get down in some of that sweet summer weather
I'm going to find a space inside to laugh
Separate the wheat from the chaff

Cos I feel like I owe it, yeah
Said I feel like I owe it, yeah
You know I feel---- like I owe it yeah to someone

*shrug*

I'll suggest this; get a shorter cut. Nothing military or cop looking...just off your face and off your ears. Lose the chin-growth; if you're over 21, you don't need the "fake id" anymore. 😉

I think you'll be happy with the results. 🙂

well thank you, that's what I was looking for.

You have a nice wave going. Get it cut all over of course, but, keep the top longer, than the back, have the back and sides tappered more. Looks like you have some body in your hair, you could do that very easily. Short all over, don't go that route, you have a decent head of hair. 🙂

Not going to quote anyone...I'll just say this...and I speak from experience.

Contrary to what you may believe at a liberal 20-something frame of mind, your status in society (and your bank account) depends on TWO THINGS.

1. Your education level
2. Your appearance

If you have a PhD in biochemistry, you can look (and smell like) John Lennon, and still live very well.

If you are a normal Joe (HS diploma, some college, some work experience) you need to be clean cut in order to fit in.

"Fit in" means fit in visually. You can THINK whatever you want. Your two year AA in Business Management will only get you hired if you look corporate.

20 years ago, I was the long-haired, earring wearing, "fuk the man!" rocker. I was also unemployed most of the time, despite my education and skill-set background.

*shrug* But, if what I've said matters not to you, so be it. We all must learn life at our own pace. 🙂 Good luck to you.

well I thank you for your insight. But I'm only 16 so I still have a ways to go, but I do understand what you're saying.
