I might be offered a chance to get in (part-time) to design some adult websites. Unfortunately this position is an actual job which requires the submission of some personal information and payment of taxes on income.

I know there are many adult webmasters out there, especially given the large sites I'm gonna be working for. I'm juse wondering how secure my information is going to be and how this will affect future job prospects that involve background checks...

I mean pay is really good, several thousand a month...part-time.

its not like you're the one posing, and they probably have a regular business name. not "XXX hot sex website design"

What would you do when you are interviewing for a job in the future and they want to see examples of what you've done?

a friend of mine thought it might be a good idea. he basically just bought webdomains, designed sites, and sold them. in the end, nothing but hardship came out of it. i don't think it's worth it, but that's just me.

Personally, I wouldn't.

As for your concerns, I'd do some checking into the company, ask some questions. If you feel satisfied with the answers you get, then it's up to you.

Why do you even ask such a question, you know the response. Do it, and hand us out free passwords.

I'd say don't do it. But then again, nobody listens to my opinion anyway.

So long as the content isn't displaying illegal stuff - IE child pornography or beastiality then I wouldn't be concerned about the legal aspects of it. You may be questioned by future employers on your morals, though I would hope that most future employers understand that you are simply building a structure, and are by no means actually providing the materials and subject matter.

In the future I would just be very clear that you were building the framework for an adultwebsite, not contributing the material that was later added.

I'd do it. Good pay, free porn, different experience, why not? As long as the people you deal with are decent, I don't see there will be a problem.

What he said. Consider it just like any other design job. You're doing coding and structure, not making pr0n vids. Mind you, I'm sure you'll get the chance to sit in on a couple shoots. :D

I've had a couple of friends do this. They got to see the women in porn from start to finish. It changed their perspective on women. One being engaged and the others in relationships, they all degraded to nothing and not one of them is with their significant other any longer.
Now they treat women like sex objects and strictly that. I ask them why and their only answer is "all women are pigs."

This may not happen to you but watchout.

Other thing is - unless you wanted to, you don't even have to disclose it to future employers. It's a side job so you'll have something else to fill in for that period of time.

It'll show up on tax info, but outside of certain government positions, no employers to my knowlegde can look at your tax information and see that you received compensation from "www.tehpr0nkingdom.com".

That's not a problem with the job. That's a problem with your friends being f@cked up in the head. No offense.
I'm sure no one pried their eyes open and made them watch the pr0n shoots. Right?

I've applied for a couple of these positions. If the money is good and it's not illegal I don't see a problem.
