should i get insurance for my mobile phone?

after reading the other thread I'm thinking if I should get insurance or not

I bought this phone for 100 bucks... it usually costs 200

I really don't want to pay any more money per month


i was with cingular for 2 years, insured my phone and never used it
basically wasted money every month.

Yes you should get insurance.. its only $2-3 a month for it.. If you lost your phone youd appreciate it.

I've lost my phone before.

I think its worth it, considering its $3 a month. At that rate, you would have to go a long time to pay for the cost of a phone. Also consider, that if you lose this one, you will have to pay $200+ for a new one, considering the $100 was like an intoductory offer for joining.

reporting a phone stolen wont get you a new one unless you have insurance 🙁

THe companies scam you more than you can scam them. Usually even if you have insurance they only want to give you some crappy phone unless you a like $50 to get a better one. SOOOOo no worth it.

When my Sprint PCS phone broke, they sent me a refurbished phone. I don't know if its worth 3 bucks a month, but I have it in case I am broke and can't afford a new phone. That and I'm too lazy to cancel the add-on.

I've had a cell phone for six years, no insurance. That's an extra $200 in my pocket. I buy insurance for stuff I can't afford to pay for on my own, not for something like a cell phone.
