an (n; n when stressed)indef.art. - The form of a used before words beginning with a vowel or with an unpronounced h: an elephant; an hour; an Eclipse.

I wouldn't buy one.

I drove a Sebring, which is essentially the same thing, last week. While the exterior styling of the car is superb, I found the interior to be completely dysfunctional. You should go drive one and see for yourself!

I think the Ecplise turned into more of a toned down sports car than before. So think like Toyota Solara kind of car more than Acura Integra-like fun. Personally i think the outside looks butt ugly.

I HATE WORKKKK.

ah i love the older 97< turbo.
Up here, we don't get Eclipes , instead Eagle Talon TSI.
my friend has 97 TSI, and all eclipse body conversion.
SWEET!.

Naw, the new ones swithced over to the V-6 engine. Like i said before, they lost a lot of their sporty character for a more subdued cruiser car kind of thing.

I heard that the old Eclipses (97) tended to break down a lot? Problems with their engines?

Too much. 3.0 liter engine with 205 hp. 205 torque.
3,053 pounds!

Now, let's do some math:
3,053 pounds/205 hp is--> 14.89 pounds/HP. (I have no idea what this figure does.)

I actually prefer the new one to the old one too! Eclipses (not sure about new ones) don't have the best record of reliability though.

i have a silver 2000 eclipse gt. i am VERY happy with the car. the car is a cruiser, not a "racer" like everything else. it also DOES NOT have to be revved high to get useable power. it has a lot of "go power" right off the line. and as "slow" as it is, people hit high 6s in the 0-60mph and high 14s in the 1/4mile.

the trick is to get rid of the stock "screaming eagle" tires that we have. we have way more power than they canhandle, so we can spin out easily.

aftermarket support: LITTLE, but improving. lowering it 1.3" changes it's character drastically, as the suspension is soft and designer to be more luxorious. a simple CAI will add ~10hp due to the restrictive nature and location of the stock airbox. our exhaust is pretty good, so you should leave that alone. for more info visit www.neweclipse.org.
