That being said, I would probably stay away from 20" LCD TVs. They aren't worth the money right now with all the deals for larger ones out there. I would go for the monitor. What kind of adapter lets you plug in a 360 though?

Lol, I did edit it a couple times, but the main idea was there. I figured Whoozyerdaddy was just being a jerk.

Which monitor would best suit me in my price range, (and yeah, I realize the blackfriday deal was the one, but its gone now).

LCD TV. That way you can watch TV too. On average, about $100 more, give or take.

I'm in the same situation at the moment. Looking to get this TV probably in January:

Should have more expendable money though, so might go up a little bigger. Bigger is better :)

You might as well throw in a tuner with that $100. A lot of crappy LCD TVs dont even come with hi-def tuners, so just grab a QAM tuner for like $150.

I vote for LCD Monitor, not TV.

Do you really want 1366x768 at 27" or 30"? That's ridiculous. I want 25x16 resolution with 30"

20" is a 1600x1200 resolution.

I hate laptops with XGA resolution. It's all about SXGA. That's why I refuse to use my computer on a TV screen.

I have Verizon FIOS with a HD/DVR box sitting unused, not at all worried about the tuner at the moment. :) Although if I move it might make a difference.

And honestly - for tv, don't care so much, just want to play games in all it's glory, that's all :)

what do you recommend for the 32" range, and keep in mind budget. I am searching heavily for the best TV. i can't impulse buy TVs. lol

QAM tuner is nice, if you have analog cable you might be able to watch HD channels for free. Of course you can also do OTA antenna as well.

OOS though. Man I wish that deal lasted through January...just gotta get my reimbursement check from my company...free money :)

I'm sure Westinghouse/Olevia models will drop in price even more. Who knows maybe the super hot Olevia 37" will drop to the $599 range in a few months. At which point I'll be pretty damn pissed.

Get a monitor and a cheap tv card for your computer. This way you can watch tv and get a good resolution for using your computer.

Most 20" lcd tvs are 720p, or 1280 x 720.

Most 20" lcd monitors are 1680 x 1050.

1680 x 1050 >>>>>>>>>>> 1280 x 720

Also, many 20" lcd monitors have both VGA and DVI ports. You can hook the 360 directly to the VGA port and the computer to the DVI port. No adapter necessary.

I'm really not looking to spend over 350, but will be glad to spend less.

259.99 Monitor + 3.99 Shipping = 263.98

+

39.99 PCI Tuner Card w/ remote + 5.64 shipping= 45.63

=

$309.61.

This allows you to watch tv, play xbox 360, and use a relatively high resolution computer monitor. If you don't game on your computer, you could buy a cheap ~$30 video card that has VGA and DVI, and hook the DVI to your 20" and the VGA to your current 15" for some nice and ghetto dual screen computing (dual screen > *).

yeah, most of the HDTVs are 1366x768. I love my 32" Olevia but it would be a pain to use as a monitor. That's a lower vertical resolution than i am currently using on my 18.1" Dell monitor. Plus it's just so ginormous i couldn't look at it up close! I use it strictly to play video files and watch tv.

Thanks for the info. If nobody else in the house wants the small monitor, I might just consider that "ghetto" dual screen setup, lol.
