Should I get a Switch with an internal "power supply" or does it matter?

I notice that a switch with an internal power supply costs about $100 more. What is the function of the "internal power supply " and should I get a switch with it or not? Please help. Thanks

If you don't get an internal power supply you probably just need to plug in a power brick, no big deal.

A switch with an internal power supply is more likely to have an internal cooling fan as well which makes the switch "noisy". It might also be rackable whereas ones with external power supplies could be rackable but it would be messy.

If it's just for home I'd go for one with an external power supply. Some of the cheaper switches with internal power supplies are virtually disposable when the PS dies in them. Besides it's nice to keep that extra heat away from the switch.
