I'm with spwango on this one.

I have a geforce 3 Ti 200 and a Radeon 9100 sharing the same monitor via a KVM

Radeon just looks plain better in 2D

Just picked up the 9800np for $199 at CC. still 2 in stock after I left.

If price is your biggest concern then the 5900 should be your choice, no tax and free shipping. However, if you plan on playing the latest DX9 games next year, choose the 9800np.

Or just pay for it (in store) and have them ship it to you. If you choose standard UPS the shipping is free. With tax, mine came to about $212 and it shipped the same day I ordered (yesterday).

Besides, Newegg is all sold out.

Just installed my new CC 9800 last night.

Was not gonna do it until I got the rest of the parts for my new system but could not resist.

Even with my 1ghz Duron I"m seeing significant performance increase over my Geforce 3 ti 200.

Seem to remember an article some place comparing high end graphics cards on low end systems and the radeon 9700's came out on top. Can't find the ref but if you have a low end system you might look into which card is best for your situation.

Whatever, this thing is such a kick in the seats of the pants for my lil duron I might put off upgrading it for another 6 months......

Looking for the above reference saw a september article on Toms refering to the latest nvidia drivers that give spetactular gains (like 30/40%) in DX9 not displaying images correctly. In other words yeah it does it fast but does not do the job so what's the point. Article was from september, has NVIDIA addressed the problem with new drivers?

Still got 14 days to decide to stick with the radeon. Based on the image quality and speed improvement so far on my low end system, I think it's a keeper.

Move or lock/delete this thread though!
