Xbox won't have many games out when it is released either, and then who knows maybe you'll want to wait for the next big thing? Dolphin? Dreamcast 2? Who knows, if you want something get it.

I would definatly wait a while to pick a next-gen console. Too many uncertanties.

However one thing that is certain is that if you bought a Dreamcast you will never regret it in your life. There are more A+ games out for it now than the Playstation 2 (or any other console) will have for years, and more are coming. Plus its super cheap at only $150.

If you wait 'til xbox (and gamecube) comes out...the PS2 will be available with many 2nd gen games, and cost $100 less. The PS2 is ok right now, but you must weigh the opportunity cost of owning one to $500-600.

If there are a few games that you absolutely must have, I probably just answered your question...but I'm curious as to what the price will be lowered to next fall. Nintendo's trying to get the gamecube down to $150, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

i can get a dreamcast with controller and one game at our local toy store for $99.95, but i wasn't sure if that was going to be worth it or not, i like the idea of PS2 because it works as a DVD player too, btu i am curious to see how Dolphin turns out, ahhhhh, i'm sooo confused

ARE YOU CRAZY!

GET THE DREAMCAST!

All of that for $100? You are nuts if you DON'T! That will easily keep you occupied for quite a while. Long enough to see just what Nintendo and Xbox have up their sleeves.

It's hard to say. On one hand oyu should probably wait until we at least hear what kind of hardware/dev. support Microsoft and Nintendo will have, but on the other hand if you do that you'll never buy anything, because something new will always be coming out. I think the suggestion of buying the dreamcast is right; or buy nothing and wait until early spring and see how the scene pans out.

I think the PS2 is kind of sucks. You nee a special memory card to play DVDs which means one more thing that will be hard to find, and really how good will the quality be? Second the Dolphin is supposed to rock.

You need a memory card to watch DVDs? I thought that was only with the first release of Japanese PS2s..

Don't count out Gamecube(it hasn't been Dolphin for awhile fellas), it looks to be great. Let's just hope they can get games for it. I just bought a Dreamcast w/2 controllers, a vmu, a jump pack, and 4 games from a friend for $150, it was DEFINITLY worth it. The PS2 is great, but right now it costs so much more than Dreamcast, so it's not worth it. I'd say wait for either the XBox or Gamecube, and see which of them has better devolper support.

Don't buy a japanese version, because then you're going to have to mod it and get a DVD memory card.

Do what I'm doing.

Get a Dreamcast. Love it. Cherish it. When you feel sad, cuddle with it.

Then in a year, you can evaluate your options on the next gen. I am most likely to go for Xbox, but I will leave a chance to PS2 or GC if they can take my money away from me.

i've been nothing but happy with my dreamcast. and it will most certainly hold me over until x-box or gamecube comes out. personally i think x-box will own. 3 words.

microsoft never loses.

<< have you seen comercial for PS9 ? >>

MustangSVT,

It won't be available until the year 2078.:)

<< (it hasn't been Dolphin for awhile fellas) >>

Deeko,

Maybe not, but I sure get a lot of hits at tacube.com with the word "Dolphin" in the search string.:Q
