Should I get a new HDD?

Back when I built my PC, I screwed up and did not partition my 30GB 7200rpm IDE HDD. I now have the OS, all applications and a ton of MP3s on the C drive. I would like to have my OS on a clean partition or separate drive.

Would it be worthwhile to get a small 8GB or less 5400rpm drive and use it to boot from?

Would this provide me with any benefits other than the ability to do a clean OS install from time to time?

Thanks.

If you dont need the space, save yourself the money and get Partition Magic for a bit less.

You can re-partition your HD without losing data, and you can reinstall on a new partition with all your old data saved to something like d:/

Fair enough, sorry I didnt realise it was that expensive in your country...

Ok so a lot of options.

1) New HD as it is a way to get another partition
2) CD-R (assuming you dont have one) - backup your existing data, wipe the disk, and do it properly this time with an 8 (or-so) Gig partition for C:
3) Partition magic :p
