the new samsung chromebooks have a nice form factor and seem fast enough to be useful. i sort of want one. have any of you gotten one and if so have you had any problems with it such as an unstable internet connection?
So a Chromebook is really no different from a $400 Android tablet? The Chromebook definitely sits in the luxury item status. The price of it doesn't really make it beneficial over something like a netbook. I have a cr-48 (actually passed it on to my mom) and it was an interesting device.. but I obviously got it for free. I wouldn't pay ~$400 for a chromebook though.

Just Android in a netbook/laptop-like exterior?

Do you need a notebook form factor device entirely dependent on an Internet connection to function?

If it's just a case of gadget lust, go for it. If you have some legitimate needs, I'd probably just go with a Linux netbook.
If you do get one, I'd like to see a review. I haven't had much experience with Chrome OS since when it was first released, so I'd be interested to see how far it's come.
I'm using a Samsung Chromebook 500C, and I would say 'it depends on your use'. It has issues with full screen displaying some Youtube videos (hd resolutions), games from the Market tend to lag significantly, and pages like 9gag (image heavy pages) lag a lot, too.
I would recommend one for emails/basic surfing, but not for much else.
i tried to look what you have up and nothing came up. does yours have atom? i would get the celeron one which seemed decently speedy to me. dont you think if chromebooks were the same price as netbooks they would really take off?
