I'll go ahead and add this near the bottom of my "Things I Care About" list... right between the average number of leaves on a Juniper bush and whether or not Fabio cried when that bird hit him in the face.

The emo corner is thataway. --->

Cool, head over there and hang out with the other muppets who can't work out what to do with their lives.

Is that your intention?

seriously, that is a terrible comeback 🙁

Probably, but then again I didn't give the response much time or thought, and quickly carried on with my drooling over the thought of chomping down on a nice delicious Chinese takaway meal... which is imminent I might add.

define Chinese takeaway. I mean what dish and what kind of Chinese, the real or the fake ones.

Fake ones?

as in stuff like Chicken Ball, General Tsao chicken, etc. I am not sure what the British variety of locally developed Chinese dishes are.

I see.

I'll likely be ordering chicken satay, egg fried rice, shredded chilli beef and what ever the misses wants.
satay is soooo Chinese... not 😉

"Regional " Chinese for the win.

Get the half duck, Lo Mein (duck Lo Mein?)

Well, it could be a translation issue. In Taiwan, there is a bbq sauce that the locals call satay sauce because it is similar to the malay satay, may even be malay in origin, so maybe he's talking about that.

so, fake Chinese it is 🙂. go for it, you only live once (hopefully).

My law professor mentioned "Chinese takeaway" this morning...He's from Manhattan, so I guess it's a regional thing...

I had 'real' Chinese once, we scoured the menu for a while looking for the closest things to Sesame Chicken or Sweet and Sour Pork. Unrelated, my favorite source for the former was closed down due to health violations shortly after I moved away.

All this talk of Chinese food convinced me to go out for dinner. The place we go is the best in town, and IMO, it's the best Chinese food I've ever had anywhere. Apparently the local Asian community thinks so as well. It's always full of large groups and families of Asians. The entire menu is printed in English and Chinese.
