I was thinking faster RAM also...

i know, but we see what the intel cpus can do, but have not seen what the new am2s can do - at this point they are pretty equal to 939, except maybe the new 65nm cpus can o/c higher (unless i missed something that amd put out that own their current am2 line). i would go with what we know works and not with what we hope works. i guess if i had to pick a side i would be more pro amd because they are the only reason why intel is not raping us a$$ much, but when it comes to performance, you can't dispute numbers and atm the intel cpus are just better and it is known that their quad cpus work, has amd even relase a quad yet? even if it is 2 dual cores in a single package? i hope they put out stuff that will clean the floor with intel products, but they haven't yet. thankfully i can sit this round out and will stay with 939 since i don't do as much cpu intensive stuff atm, and am sitting out the gpu upgrade since i picked up a 360 :)

I think you should google am3 it's a difference socket I believe. Socket Am2 will upgrade to Am2+.

I think i'm going to stick with this, I'm a fan boy of Newegg :D
Any suggestions or last thoughts before buying?

The ram you chose will not overclock the e4300 well. I'ts too slow and 10$ more then the ram I suggested.

The Motherboard I linked you is a proven overclocker with this chip and ram and will accept a quad core 1333 fsb in the future.

Correct.

AFAIK (from what I've read) AM2+ is just an AM3 with a lower Hyper transport, and no DDR3 support.

Edit: AM2+ also has the 939 pinout.

Sorry about all the talk of AM2-3 Vs C2D... We ATers do this all the time. :D

Rite now, I'd go with a C2D setup, but you need faster RAM!

Well... Read the link I posted here.

BTW: I didn't mean the 939 socket. I meant the AM2 socket, sorry for the confusion. ;)
