Should I get a 911 Turbo? :)

Hell no, the only car that's worth it is a 1998 Geo Metro, or perhaps a Festiva. Those cars rock.

(massive sarcasm above)

Seriously, yes, they're worth it.

That car looks cool and all but imagine a dodge viper with twin turbos 🙂 im sure it would own it 😛

No, not worth it.
Get the normal 911. Plenty fast and no turbo lag. Plus you get to hear the beautiful Porche engine without the turbo whine.

0-60 in around 5 seconds for the normally aspirated car is fast.

For the price of the turbo you're in Ferrari 360 territory. I would almost pay for a recording of that engine. But then again I'm Italian 😉

The 360 could almost be called an investment. Remember when the Testarossa came out in the mid '80's for $90,000? They were going for 5 times that much a few years ago. Granted, the market has corrected, but the Ferrari is still a relative "bargain" compared to the 911 turbo. Even Car & Driver said the 911 turbo does everything perfectly yet has no "soul."

If you can afford these cars I commend you for your good taste!

Turbo lag is suck.

It's a damn beautiful and fast car, but I just can't stand the lag before the turbo kicks in. Of course I've never driven a 911 so I probably shouldn't comment on it, because for all I know they could have worked out the lag issues.

Audi should make a 6-cylinder TT roadster. Now that would be a car worth buying.

Turbo Lag...
You shouldn't have that problem if you fine tune it right. Get a free flow exhaust and intake.
Open up the wastegate and set up the proper boost and you are all set.
Love those sound especially from the Blowoff Valve. The whistle of speed.

RuF.......................Tuning!

I think it's worth it. I don't own one though.

But if I were to buy a sports car in it's price range, it'd be that one.

You got the loot? Do it to it. Fine piece of German engineering.

I can't fit in those small cars, so a 4 door Bimmer in the 90k range would be my choice. Of course, I would have to take the badges off, so rice burners pulling up next to me would think I 'only' have a 5 series.

But the Porsche. Think... vrrrrrrrroooooooommmmPfffffffffffttttt ...vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooommmmmmmPfffffffttttttt. Gotta love the sound of that wastegate.

I'd get one if I had the cash! But if I had to be more practical (as in not a sports car), I'd probably get an S500 (may be out of the price range) or an Acura RL. Maybe even a Q45...MMmmm 😛
