My sister gave me one of those American Express gift cards for my birthday.

Today, I used it to buy deodorant (No, not the whole value of the card!).

Should I have saved the gift card for something more "special"?

Got two of those for Christmas, spent them on: Pizza flavored Pringles, condoms, Guinness, chloroform, and paper plates.

Think we're good.
 
no, use it for whatever you want. that's why she gave it to you right? i got a $100 gift card for fry's and bought a cable splitter/memory stick for my daughters new camera.

No, use it for what you need it for. It doesn't have to be "For fun". You can think about it this way, the money you saved using the giftcard, you can use that for fun later on if you want/can.

I'm more curious about the paper plates... I mean sure he's getting pringles, but come on. If he's not getting Styrofoam cups for the Guinness, then why bother with plates for the pringles!
