my system specs are in my profile but i just upgraded from a 9550 and i dont seem to seem much of a performance increase it still bogs down at the same parts and it is kind of chopply if i turn all of the settings up (execpt aa and af).

1. More memory required.
2. Clean up your computer, as in software, spyware, junk files, defragmenter, etc.
3. Dowload latest drivers.
4. Disable all non-essential processes.

There's my two cents🙂.

1 Gig will solve pretty much all of the issues related to gaming..

(Even with a system the caliber yours is )

That's the number 1 problem. 1 gig should be the minimum anyone is using to build these days, and two gig is even better.

i wouldn't go two GB, thats overkill. plus with 4 sicks it kills your performance, and GB sticks are damn $$$. 1GB is enough unless you want to play two games at once 😉

It's enough, indeed, but the rule still applies: You can't have too much. Plus, you just wait and watch - it won't be long before games are chugging on 1GB systems. Hell, 512MB systems have been choppy for almost a year now - Far Cry and Battlefield Vietnam were probably the first two games to absolutely require a gig for smooth gameplay. I say it won't be more than 12 months from now when we start to see the first games wanting more than 1GB to be truly happy.

gah i need to go buy another stick of ram i knew it when i built but i jsut put it off now i guess i have to start saving my ram isnt cheap =<

2GB isn't really needed at all right now.. As always, if you do some heavy rendering or animation then ok..

But even gaming doesn't require 2GB at max settings.

At least get up to 1gig for now, pop in another stick down the road.
