Honestly, A+ tests you on a bunch of crap that you will never need to know in today's corporate IT setting.
If someone is starting their career, do they really need to know about 10Base2 networks, or 15-pin AUI connectors?
When is the last time you guys saw a digital camera that uses a Serial connection? Seriously...it's hard to even find a Serial port on desktops and laptops these days.
Who honestly needs to know off the top of their head that a Laser Printer will print a totally black page if there is no power in the primary corona? That's what google is for.

As far as i'm concerned, A+ is useless unless you're doing break/fix work at a computer repair shop where home users bring their virus-ridden laptops because they didn't keep their antivirus up to date and didn't buy an extended warranty from the hardware manufacturer.

OP - finish your bachelors degree. Certifications can come after you have hands-on experience. Hopefully you can get a job that pays for training if you need it to get certified.

I got my A+ and Network+ like first year of high school, if you think it is hard and expensive now, you should probably do something else.

FUCK IT. do anything else. not IT. its the janitorial position of the technology world. if you want to do something computer related go with programming. Oracle or SQL db admins are always in demand.

But if you really want decent pay and job security, go into the medical field. Be a nurse. If i could do it over again id totally be a nurse.

Yes because Programming and DB Administration has nothing to do with IT.
