Either call when it's happening, or don't call at all. The parties responsible will most likely not face any consequence - why bother?
Doesn't matter. By now they are sobered up and done with the deed.Originally posted by: virtueixi

The cops most likely already know, but I know who it was.

Look dude - if you want to do someting about it, do it when the problem is occuring. Waiting until afterwards isn't going to do sh!t for your cause.

or they find some way to make your life the worse for having bothered them in the first place.
I tried to report one of my "friends" assaulting another one of my "friends" with empty beer bottles because I knew I'd get hurt if I got between them and I wanted someone with fast access to paramedics to respond because there was a good chance someone would need it. THe cops decided to respect my anonominity by kicking in MY door (didnt hear the knock over BFC and headphones) and threatened to charge me with obstruction if I didn't walk down the hall with them and show them who was fighting. :|
Here's why most of society distruts its police:
1) Everyone teaches the young'ins that they can trust a police officer to help when help is needed
2) Eventually, that person asks a cop to help
3) Person is surprised when cop finds a way to further screw over person who needs help
4) Person permanently distrust police

Unfortunately you are right. I feel sorry for the few cops out there trying to do the right thing.
A couple of unbelievable storys about cops....
A kid threw a rock at my grandfathers car and scratched it... He called the cops, they came and as the officer was getting out of his car a handgun fell out of his car and hit the ground. DOH!
Another time, I drove by a house where some kids were skateboarding in the driveway. As I drive by, one of the kids falls off his skateboard launching the skateboard in front of my truck. I run over it and it flies up and hits my door leaving a small dent with numerous scratches. I called the cops. When the cop arrived. He said and I quote "something like this is like hitting a deer, nobody is at fault. This isn't my district anyway". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I haven't called those worthless pricks since.

Since when do you call the cops over a few scratches and a dent? U were wasting their time. What were they gonna do, write the kid a ticket based on your witness? Just find the kid's parents, and threaten to sue if you don't get X dollars for damages. You get money, kid gets punished, your truck goes into the shop for a few days, and it all works out.

wow, I would like to live in the fantasy land where you live. Where people take responsibility for their actions or their childs actions. It doesn't happen like that in the real world. You need a police report as proof of something like this happening and for judgment to be dealt. Wasting the cops time? I pay taxes, the police are supposed to "serve and protect".
