Theres an '84 Grand Marquis for sale in our paper for $100. All it says is "Slight Tranny Slippage", so im guessing it runs. Should I buy it for something to mess around with?

check around the scrap yards for a used AOD, generally swapping the tranny is pretty simple. if you get it, check out crownvic.net

The Ford automatic transmission for that car was notoriously bad. My parents had that model car and had to replace the transmission three times before they got one that worked.

For 100 bucks, go for it.

Buy a used tranny, have it detailed, and sell it for 3-400.

My friends and I picked up a $50 Hyundai and trashed it in this huge field one night. This was back when I lived in Podunk, TX, hehe. It took 10 minutes to "warm up", did 0-40 in about 3 minutes, didn't have seatbelts and smelled like gas, but it was fun!
