Should I buy the dealer extended bumper-bumper on this Saab?

I just bought a used, MINT!! 2008 9-3 Aero XWD trim-26,888 Miles for $23,200. NOT Certified. When I say mint, the tires still have the tire chalk on them. I live in the Boston area. I think the price is fair, but considering the availability of ANY black Aero I think its a steal. I could only find FOUR of these Black models under 30k miles in ALL OF THE USA. Really.

I live in Boston. The car still has 15 months left on the bumper to bumper. The car looks brand new with only one owner in Nebraska. I'm comfortable with the given Manufactures power-train warranty of 100,000k/5 Years. The only thing I'd be interested is an additional bumper to bumper warranty for maybe two more years after this one expires in 15 months.

If you have the same 9-3 Aero XWD model, would you of bought an extended warranty? Or am I just pissing $$ out the window? Should I get longer than 2 years bumper-bumper?

Have you had any issues with YOUR 2008 Aero XWD 9-3 that made you wish you bought it?

If you plan on keeping it a long time then yes I would.

European cars are nice to drive, as long as they are under warranty or you know how to work on it yourself and don't mind the extra work/down time.

I have an 08 9-3 Aero XWD I bought new, and no, I would not buy the extended warranty. It now has 27k miles and hasn't had any problems at all.

I would buy the warranty. I got a LOT of usage out of the extended warranty on my 01 m5, and iirc saab has similar reliability standards (aka, not very reliable).

I could be way off, but isn't the 9-3 Aero essentially a WRX drivetrain?

If so, you really only have to worry (extra) about body panels, electronics, gauges, and other interior items. The warranty will be long expired before body panels come into question, so it really is a matter of whether or not you trust the electronics.

I think the Saabaru is the 9-2x Aero.

Wow...23 k for 9-3 from 2008? Them regular Areos go for around 14k. Is the XWD worth that much "extra"?
