Will appreciate any and all help ASAP. I have a son in grad school in Texas. I'm in Wisconsin. If I buy him the Slingbox Solo for Christmas, we would do the set-up here at home (we have satellite TV, he only has basic b a s i c cable) so he could watch his sports from our dish.

1. Is this possible?
2. Is it hard to get set up and going? He only has a day or two here to do it before heading back to Texas.
3. We have a router and DSL. What else would I need to buy assuming that what I'm hoping will work, will work?
4. Pros and cons, please?
5. Can we watch something here and also him be able to watch his shows there at the same time?

Yes, it's very doable. My brother lives in Germany and keeps a Slingbox at my father's house to watch college football games. It's quick and easy to get up and running, and the setup will even configure your router for you. As long as you split the signal (using a cheap coax splitter), he can watch whatever he wants without affecting your viewing.

Pros: easy to set up and configure, watch TV from any computer in the world (as long as you have Sling Media's software installed)
Cons: video quality can be poor if you don't have a good connection

Deinonych pretty much sums it up. My brother utilizes the sling box set up in my room to watch sports in Shanghai. I can use it too when i'm at school. The picture is a bit blurry but better than nothing.
