My current PC is a piece of crap. 1 Ghz AMD with like 196MB of Ram and 30GB HD and a 32MB Video Card.

I want to purchase something that I can play games on with no problem.

My budget is $1,500. Should I go all out and buy a laptop or build a nice computer?

Why did you post this on off-topic?

Ok well, or should I just save my money and grow up (stop playing games) and worry about paying for school.

There now it's off-topic

Peace

Buy a compass first, my lad. You are in the wrong forum. Why not post this in Politics and News instead? ;)

If it comes down to getting a computer vs other things to spend money one, go desktop unless you need portability.

Desktops are a waste.

Durability? I don't get it.

Do you move your case around a lot and drop it?

I finally got why he posted here. He is interested in durability. Monkees drop coconuts. I guess he figured he'd ask the question around a bunch of monkees, like the ATOT crew. ;)

If you're planning on keeping this computer several years (which it seems you might) then I'd still say desktop as you could do some upgrades over time.

well it sounds like it if he still has a 1ghz pc.. thats just damn old. frys has been selling atleast 1.6ghz athlons with m/b for 60 bucks for like the last 2-3 years now.....

laptops never a good investment if its ur only comp. moving ur comp makes it all the more likely u'll break something. servicing laptops is unpleasant.

Why not both?

You can scrounge up the hardware cheap to build a new desktop in FS forum, and grab a Dell notebook when they're on sale.
