Should I buy a FW900?

With all the stuff I do on my computer, the 19in. LCD @ 1280x1024 is getting a little small. I game, watch DVD's, do some video editing, etc. on it.

My question is this, is a ~4 year old monitor worth the $400 (with shipping)? Or should I just go for a Dell 2405 and spend a little (or a lot) more.

To get a 24in. widescreen monitor for ~$400 (which cost the same as my 19in. monitor did when I bought it) seems like a good deal, especially when the Dell 2405 is $900?

I'm just not sure what to do.

I bought one of those from ebay and the case was a little scuffed but the IQ was perfect. I'm now back on an 18inch LCD and I say go for it. My brother has it now... but man if I can find a pristine one I would buy another one again. Once you go bigger it sucks going back to a smaller monitor. :(

I bought one in perfect condition for $200 about 1 month ago. I really liked it, but sold it because I can't go back to a CRT when I have my 2405fpw. $400? Maybe, $300? sure.

One more question (sorry),

Should I get a Gray GDM-FW900 for $400, or a Off White(ish) HP A7217A (rebadged FW900) for $375?

I like the gray better though, cause I really hate white monitors.

LCD > CRT. Although I hate the screen door effect, after using a new intel imac for over an hr then going back to my FW900 I can immediately see the refresh rate shimmering. For games it's awesome, though. And movies look pretty spectacular as well.

Doubt yours was in perfect condition unless you've actually used a new one before and know how a new one really looks like.
I've used over 5 different trinitron refurbs and they were all far from new.
The biggest problems they had was that they blur when you turn up the brightness. New ones blur too, but you could turn it up about twice as bright before they start blurring.

I've got an FW900... think i've had this for like 5 years now. Personally, i prefer LCDs, and loved the 2405.

Well, would you recommend it to someone who can't afford a 2405?
