So I've been looking around some more... and I'm wondering how this would hold up for a little while. I wouldn't need it for years... just probably around a year.

Does anybody have any advice, recommendations, or experience with Durangos? Everybody I've talked to so far has said that I should try to get this SUV if possible... Anyone say otherwise? I know that it is a gas guzzler, I know that going in. However, I've heard that the insurance rates are lower with the Durango than with many vehicles because of their safety features.

So?

The Dodge Durango has an annoying feature when you reach "high-speeds" on the gas.

At around 117 MPH it tops out and drops you to a calm 110 MPH. Then it will not let you accelerate past this limit and continues on a calmer speed.

I rented a Dodge Durango and did some "testing."

Of course I'm going to top out the car at its max speed, which in this case was very weak. I took it off-roading and drove it through a couple a cities and peeled-out at stop lights.

Seems like a smooth ride, nice for traveling, but it sure as hell is a gas-guzzler.

The smaller engine is a dog and the larger engine is a gas guzzler. My friend has one with the large engine and constantly complains about the 12.8 mpg.
