If I get the 2 sticks I can run it in dual channel mode. Here is my setup, remember 512mb pc3200 and 2*512 2700 cost pretty much the same.

Xp 2100+ throughbred (sp?)
Epox 8RGA+
80gb w 8mb cache

thats all the important stuff.

I'd say go with dual channel as well. Why have the feature and not use it, right? 🙂

Because the benifit on an athlon is almost nonexistent? I'd go with the 3200 now, then get more 3200 later, I'm sure 200mhz FSB will be a thing of the past in no time, and FSB contributes GREATLY to gaming performance.

yes, I might overclock it, but not right after I build it, I'd probably wait a few months. So I guess I'll get the 3200. One more question, how much of a difference is there between the hyperX, twinX, XMS, etc and regular pc3200?

What if using a 9700-np? Would you reccomend 2x512 pc2700 or 1x512 pc3200, if not overclocking the ram?

Well if you aren't overclocking the ram, get the PC2700 anyway... but it's proven the DC-DDR offers performance gains for onboard video... but if you're keep the FSB to spec (166) then by all means just get the PC2700.
