You have to turn her in. Trust me, as a TA I've busted groups of people when I thought they were cheating together, and someone might think that of you and the girl in question.

You should include random weirdnesses in your code (extra spaces, slightly odd punctuation) and then you'll know for sure.

good idea.... BUT there is the SLIGHT chance that you guys actually thought about the problem similarily and came up with similar solutions. Althought highly unlikely, there is still the possibility.

In my humble opinion, I would talk with the professor immediately, with the evidence in hand. Document every conversation you have with her and with this girl.

This can come back to bite you in the ass, unless you act quickly and purposefully. Good luck.

Shalom!

HEH. That's impossible. When kids in my java class cheat, they at least change variable names. Kudos to a comrade in learning a worthless, dying language only to have someone plagiarize your labs!

So the consensus seems to be "turn the kid in". i'll sleep on it and do something tomorrow.

hmmm...maybe i should just forward this thread to her. that'll bust her tomaters.

But that doesn't account for the identical spacing - in my code, for instance, I rarely have spaces between operators and tokens. The funky spacing of the second 'try' is also a dead givaway - the only reason an Intro student would have the brace on the same line is a typo.

I read the title as, "Should I bust this girl for jacking off on my lab work? (with proof)"

Boy, am I relieved. But yeah, if you don't go to the teacher first, then you might be in the position of defending your work.
