I just noticed it has a single player button heh, is it worth playing? Ive played through CoD4 and MW2 campaigns, is it basically just like those, forgettable and samey?

I played the first 2 missions and couldn't tolerate another second after that. Though I would probably say the same thing about all of the recent health regen shooters floating about.

I tried the single player initially, didn't like it much, then got really into the multiplayer and enjoyed it immensely. Went back to single player, got severly annoyed at the poor mechanics of it. Your npc squadmates cant die, and also deal about zero damage, so all the enemy NPCs shoot at you almost as soon as you're visible and you end up having to do all the work. It's not that it's hard, it just feels dumb :/

I found it a nice distraction from multiplayer. I would get pissed at my team for any varied reason and go off to play single player.

I found it decent enough to want to complete it once, but it is rather short like most current multiplayer centric fps titles.

I liked the single player up until
you are on the frozen mountain and have to keep finding sources of warmth or you freeze and die. That part pissed me off.

Think it's worth one play through. Not very long but there are some nice sequences in there. Your squad mates start of as a real power and then taper off making you do most of the work. I thought it was a good transition.

I enjoyed the single play version...

...the dialogue was pretty funny at times.

Same here. Hags was great comic relief. "I'm gonna kill that mortar guy...." Priceless.

I think if you take your time and try to play it like a Rainbow Six shooter it can be pretty fun.

If you go in with lowered expectations you will enjoy it. If go in expecting it to be good, you'll be sad. :)

I never even touched it. Have about 50hrs into multiplayer but never touched single.

I took care of the single player before I started much multiplayer. I can't imagine going back and playing it now that i have as much time as I do online.

I saw the bit on BF3 in the latest Game Informer, apparently they didn't expect BC2 to be as popular as it is, so that is why it took so long for them to release new maps, and why leveling becomes pointless after 25 or so. They didn't expect anyone to make it to 50. About a quarter of the people on every server I get put onto are level 50.

I have a hard time believing they didn't realize people would reach level 50, especially considering how long the leveling process was in BF2 and 2142 and yet it was always laughable how many people in each server you'd run into that had immensely high ranks.

There are some frightening human beings out there that eat, sleep and dream these games. :)

I've played the single player twice. I'd say it's pretty good. Fun, good graphics. I've never tried the multiplayer.

I bought the game on sale for 20.00 mainly for the single player campaign. I dont have the skills or patience to play on line with a bunch of people with level 50 and well honed fast twitch reflexes.
Anyway, I enjoyed the single player. One playthrough was enough for me though. Not much replay value in any single player shooter I suppose. I would probably rank the single player campaigns (better to worse) COD4, Bad Company 2, Black Ops, COD5, Modern Warfare 2.
At least Bad Company 2 ran smoothly instead of the stuttering that I continually got on Blops.
