Should i block wordpress Archives?

I am using wordpress and SEO by yoast. I don't want to see Archive pages in Google search result. Should i block Archives or change my mind?

Why not follow the SEO tutorial and put a brief summary or tag in each archive so as to make a search easier and faster?

Not really sure. In my htaccess file I have this:

User-agent: *
Noarchive: /
