Should I be worried about chips on my Athlon XP Core?

I found a small abrasion on the bottom left corner of my Athlon XP 2600+ barton. It is where the l2 chace is supposed to be. From what I can tell, it's a very small chip only 2-3 mm long. Chip still runs, and I can play games on it. Should I be worried? How does this not effect the CPU? Anyone got some experience with this?

if it works, don't worry about it

there are a couple guys on XtremeSystems who regularly LAP their CORES and don't have any problems

In my experience either the CPU will work perfectly fine or it will be dead. "There is no try."

BTW, I still have a handful of dead socket A CPUs. What should I do with them?

I have an old Athlon 1.4ghz with numerous chips and cracks all along the edges, but it works just fine. You don't need to worry about it.
