Should I be unselfish?

I have to work Xmas day 7-3 but I have Xmas eve off.I've given my b/friend his gifts today and could give my 16 yr old son his early as well.Should I be unselfish and volunteer to work on Xmas eve and/or a double shift on both days so that a couple of my married co-workers with young children can spend the day with their families?

That would be awful nice, but IMO, they'd owe you a favor for that! There will come a day you'd like to have off. I'd call in the favor at that point.

Lol,no,I've been thinking about it all day and feel horrible that I have the eve off and several people with young families don't,if Xmas is about giving maybe I'm being really selfish here?

This is your decision. I don't think getting a consensus will alter your feelings. Do what your heart tells you is right.

It's really up to you. If you *want* to and it would make you feel better about yourself, then do it. If you are the type to do a nice thing then groan and complain about it, don't.

if you do this your kudos rating will go up at least three or four points. 😉

well, I can't say what you should do. and it sounds like you know the situation. so make the decision for yourself.

People with young families should take priority on days like these,I'd be really selfish to deprive a co-worker of this precious time.If I agree to pull a double shift on Xmas eve and on Xmas day, that's 3 people I could give the gift of time to🙂

I'm not that way,I work all sorts of wild hours as favors to my peers on a regular basis,it makes for a change of pace and gives me the chance to torment peeps across all 3 shifts, lol,I'm like a bad penny, you never know where I'll turn up🙂

If you feel like doing it then go ahead if it is alright with your family. Maybe it won't be very busy on those days you work extra.

I'm SURE they'd rather spend xmas eve and xmas day with their families and not carea bout the $$$ so much.

If you do thats very cool of you.
