Should i be ticked

today i went thrue my normal barage of crap and so after school and stuff i go to safeway with my mom and we buy a whole bunch of crap and weve been going there for like 4 years and all the cashiers know us and everything. so as we are walking out this manager runs outside and ask me if im some guy named bruce or something and i say no, then he proceeds to tell me that he was asking me cause some one said some big black guy was shoplifting and he knew his name some how and didnt ever see him but he thought it might be me cause im black. then pats me on the shoulders and is like sorry. so my mom goes back in and biches him out i guess but that doesnt mean much. i think he accused my brother of shoplifting and like watches him whenever he gos in too. this guy could have asked a cashier what my name was since they know. he has no right of accusing me cause im black. there are probably billions of black people on this planet and just cause one stole something he's gotta talk to me about it like i did something.

another thing is i went into safeway and saw somebody stealing and told a manager and he said that he cant do anything even ask them unless he himself see's him do it. so he had no right.

should i let it go cause stuff is always gonna happen like this in life and i should just get used to it
or
should i do something because i cant just keep letting myself get stomped on thrue life?

He didn't accuse you of shoplifting because you're black. You fit the description someone else gave of someone who was shoplifting.

I say let it go... And if any Safeway employee saw someone take something, it counts, not just the actual employee. Yeah, it sucks, but other than your pride, nothing was hurt. And it isn't like he constantly harrassed you. Though I do say the situation with your brother is jacked... No one should be assumed to be a theif...

It's also your chance to move out of that town. If you don't like it, move to another city or fix the one you're in. Otherwise, don't complain about it.

It's also your chance to move out of that town. If you don't like it, move to another city or fix the one you're in. Otherwise, don't complain about it.

With that attitude you will never LET things change. If you feel wronged then do not shop there. It is supposed to be something you do for yourself. It is not something to spite them. If you wanted to spite them you could always send them nasty letters.

What do you really think is your best course of action here? I had a run in with a manager at a Gas Station chain(large corp) and the district mananger took care of everything and apologized for what happened. He said every customer matters. Customer service still does matter to people like you and me and our business is ours to take somewhere else if we don't feel the company is doing us right.

If you have a mindset that you are being singled out then you should not longer shop there. If you feel that won't help then I don't know what to tell you.

what you really need to be looking at are the movies and TV shows that give off an "anti-black" image regardless of how innocent. Think of it like this:

if this nation were predominantly black, and white entertainment were aired in a similar fashion as black entertainment is today, wouldn't you be a little like that manager?

Just let it go. If your brother has done nothing wrong, then there is nothing to worry about...as long as you don't live in the deep south.

alright, but that tv thing you were talking about got me thinking, you know on movies or shows were the have a black guy and hes gay, but hes the only gay guy from episode to episode, well im thinking that they have to have the token black guy and the token gay guy but to save money they just make em a gay black guy. i probably will drop it unless my dad heres of it. he is one of those your doing that cause im black people.

Well, I dunno about combine them both, one of the "main" pro-gay shows is Will and Grace, and it is full of wealthy white people. Not even a black guy at all. And besides, words are just words. They cannot really do any harm. Ignore them and stop shopping there... Since you haven't stolen anything from them, what does it matter what they say. Even if they stare you down everytime you walk in, they aren't blocking you from getting anything you need.
