Should I be scared?

I have an HIV test to take soon... I am a hetrosexual and have never injected a drug in my life. I'm 20 years old and I've had sex with about 15 women, about 4 of which were unprotected at some point. The unprotected ones were mostly girlfriends for more then 4 or 5 months. For some reason I'm just really nervous.

HIV is notoriously difficult to transmit from person to person. On average, you need 11 exposures to get infected. So even if you do have unprotected sex a few times with someone who has HIV, then likely you won't get it. For that reason, I wouldn't worry yet. But it is good that you are getting tested.

Thank you for the information... I will post the results sometime today.

just take the Laid back AIDS test....

go up to yout friend (Mike) and say

"Hey Mike....do you know anyone who has aids?"
"No"
"Cool........cause you know me"

😎

I had to have a HIV test when i applied to get my visa to live in the US. I was nervous too, even though id only had 2 partners and never did anything risky. Its only natural to be worried about the test, though the odds of having HIV are very very small.

Correct, but I would also test for other STDs beyond HIV.

No kidding. By that age I'd only had *one*, LOL 🙂 Of course, now I'm up to about 25, but it's taken me another 10 years, heh 😉 Didn't really get any confidence until I had a good job, though. Odd how that works sometimes!

I will be doing that once the insurance through my job comes through.

Nah, you're probably fine. Especially since you're a guy....its roughly 10x harder for a guy to get HIV from a girl than the other way around. Hetero guys that don't do drugs(ie you) are at the least risk of any sexually active demographic.

Just go into the doctor's office expecting the absolute worst. That way, when something really bad happens, you were already ready for it. But, if something good happens, then it makes it that much better 😀

Congrats on deciding to get tested, by the way 🙂
