Should I be holding off and get a P-D instead of the P-4?

Wait a bit and get a Pentium D from the 9xx series. They won't run as hot as the current 8xx chips.

When are the Pentium D 9XX's due out? Before X-mas by any chance? Does anyone have any idea yet how much more it would increase the price of the computer?

9xx chips are already shipping to OEMs, so they should be available in some form by Christmas, if not well before Christmas. No idea on the price-points for these chips.
