Should I be getting more than 8500 on 3dmark2001?

I've got an AMD 2000+ running at 1.8GHz, Gainward Ti 500 running at 265/600, 512 megs of crucial running at 150MHz, and an Epox mother board. My buddy says that he is getting 9300 with almost the same setup except that he has the Soyo Dragon motherboard. And his fsb is only at 145MHz and his CPU is around 1.75GHz. How can he get 800 points more than I am? I think he is full of crap and that he is getting 8300.

Which score sounds more accurate for the setup?

Well, have you compared the systems near you on the Mad Onion page?

You using the same OS as your friend? Your score seems more typical, though I'm not a 3dmark junkie, myself.

I don't think your buddy is lying.

I have a Soyo Dragon+ running at 140mhz, a Ti200 running at 220/445 and a XP1700 running at 1.54 and I got a score of almost 7900. If I had a Ti500 and oc'd and tweaked a little better I probably could get 9000.

I think I know what my problem is. I did not load the 4-in-1's after the last format. I will install them tonight and see if that helps.

Neither were video card drivers, but the ones XP loaded up were crap.
