Should i be excited for the studio 15?

full hardware decode of mpeg2/vc1/264. 32nm + 4 threads all under 35 watts at basically a lower price mobile penryns were going for when they were new. faster per thread anyway.

I got my brother a Studio 17 when the series first came out, beautiful laptop. He abuses the **** out of his laptops and this thing as stood up to it a year+ later. It's a great value, enjoy it .

Lol. thanks. See the thing is, im a HXC gamer. But i cant afford the gaming rig. Its a big bummer. If i had the time and money id be making my own rig. Im just scared this Notebook wont live up to expectations.

Desktops are cheaper than laptops, especially for gaming. A $400 well built desktop can play games better than any laptop.

Yup. Don't know why people insist on trying to 'game' on a laptop. Especially since, to get a decent enclosure, you pretty much almost always have to move up to the top-end 'business' units anyways.

Buying a cheap (ie: XPS, Inspiron, or even a Vostro to a lesser extent) Dell/HP/etc., and then spec'ing a GPU, is like buying the latest/greatest i7 and Radeons, and then refusing to install any cooling fans. It'll just cripple you and you'll never realize the full potential of the hardware.

Amen to the desktop thing. i would if i could, but the real deal is:
my grandpa is buying me a laptop for college. So it HAS to be a laptop. And hes very stingy. So this is the best i could get him to agree on.
