Should I be concerned or am I just paranoid?

Is pencil lead dangerous if it gets under the skin? I got a little piece jammed in my hand and I can't get it out - what would happen if I just left it there? I know this sounds rediculous - I just wanna check is all

Well, if I'm any indication you should be VERY worried. I've done it many times over the years and you see how I turned out.

Pencils are not made of lead anymore, they are made of graphite I believe. So you should not have to worry about it.

It's not lead, it's graphite. In other words, it won't hurt you, you'll just be left with a small lump under your skin.

I've had graphite in my foot for like 10 years, still there today. Look at what I've become. My god, kill yourself now and to avoid the torture.

ltk - I would but suicide is illegal 😛 I'm looking to settle this without any death/carnage if possible. 🙂

you will end up with a blue freckle ... hehe ... i have one on my left shoulder and one on my right thigh where the graphite from the pencil left a mark ... they are actually kind of kewl .. a nice change from all my brown freckles ... I have had the one in my shoulder since like 3 grade and the one in my thigh since the 7th grade and I'm fine .. so no worries

Stepped on a pencil when I was a kid and the very end of it is still in my left heel today. It talks to me.
