Should I be concerned about my CPU temp?

I have a Lian Li PC-10, XP 1600+, and the Alpha 8045T and a Sunon 50.2CFM 80mm fan. Does it matter which side my fan is attached to? Like whether one side blows air out and the other sucks it in. The fan is semi-loud, but according to the Hardware monitor it's only running at 2000 or so RPM and the CPU temp ranges from 52-56 under full load. My case temps run from 30-35C. The only thing is that even in a well ventilated and air conditioned room (70-74 F), my computer runs very hot. In some instances I start to sweat from even being near it. And if I take the side panel off to try to cool it a few degrees it just makes the fan even louder. I have Artic III on the CPU as well. Is it a shoddy and inefficient fan? Should I upgrade to a Delta or even a Vantec Tornado (loud as hell I've heard) what else can I do? Thanks a lot guys.

You don't need a louder or more powerful fan for your cpu. It sounds like your case may not be properly ventilated. Do you have any fans in there besides on the cpu? I didn't see you mention any.
Your cpu will always run a certain amount above the ambient case temp. A big HSF with a noisy fan on that will reduce that amount, but the more effecient approach to case cooling is to the lower the ambient temp. The secret is to use a lot of quiet fans inside your case, say a couple in the front drawing cool air in and a couple in the back pushing hot air out.

Even if you are unable to lower you cpu temp I wouldn't worry about it. 52-56 is just fine. It certainly isn't high enough to damage the processor.

Hmmmm, The Lian Li PC-10 is a "Tight" (small) form factor.... Are the 3 designed fan holes
used? Have you put any thought to adding some serious cooling for those Hard Drives?
Are all those drives mounted in the 3.5" or 5.25" bays? Do you use the DVD, CDRW drives
often?

I have a couple 75GXP and 60GXP IBM's and they can get very very hot to the touch...
And the W.D. SE can't be to far behind in heat production.... My IBM's could get as hot
as 98 F..... My Antec case I modded to give 2 drives 2 - 80mm fans pushing and pulling!

What you have is a heat factory the CPU is just getting pounded by the other devices
heat creation...

One step a reviewer suggested is: " One thing I think it could benefit from though is a top
mounted vertical exhaust, to remove heat from the top of the case - due to the depth
of the case, there's certainly room for it." overclockers.au

Your problem is clear you need more fans with only 2 - intakes and 1 - exhaust, look into cutting
a top exhaust mount and a side panel mount for more fans.... Also look into cooling for those
hard drives.... And if money ever allowed look to upgrade that case you seem to have out grown
it.... Hope that helps

I have 2 computers running 1600 mhz(xp1900) with a alpha 8045 and 24 CFM panaflo fans each.
Both running fine at 60 C full load in 76-78F room temp.
They've been at it for 6 months and i'm really suprised why I own so many delta fans in the first place...

My CPU runs 56c load, and was between 50 and 56 for around 24 hours solid with no problem, and usually run it 5 hours a day at that sort of temp with no problems.

Yeah but what he is saying has little to do with the CPU temp's..... It's his overall system temp's that are
getting overly hot.... Have you checked for hot spots on your case exterior.... As my previous post stated
the combo of having multiple HD's the 430w PSU plus the athlon and then all that in a small case have
created a small oven.....

And damn are you guys sure are running hot..... I have a 1.2 Tbird, 1.4 Tbird, and 2100+ XP none see more
then 50C @load and that temp came from my crappy case with 3 fans.... I see 30 - 46C..... Max load temps....

That's why I am venturing into getting the PC-65, hopefully the top blowhole will help with ventilation. Right now with the PC-10, I replaced the front to Adda fans with two 80mm Antec fans and I have the rear exhaust running stock. I think a new case will do it as when I have the side panel on the side is even hot.

I also think some of it might have to do with my PSU. The Antec doesn't fit the PC-10 normally so I had to mount it upside down, hence the PSU exhaust fan is pointing directly at my CPU fan. I'll take a pic when I can to show you guys.

For every 10 degree temperature drop, the life of your chip is doubled 😉

I'd say you should be concerned about your chip temperature just for the sake of making it last longer 😉

My 2100+ runs at a nice and comfy 43C idle. With 9 total case fans however 😀 (That includes the PSU...)

Mmgh. Not a very good heat sink however, it's a $9 CoolerMaster DP5-7H53F.

Who cares how long your chip lasts, honestly. They're all obsolete by the time it gives out anyways, and I've never really heard of a chip dying unless the heatsink/fan fell off or something.

as far as temperatures are concerned, i have an xp1600 that i had at 1.8v one time. I was reconnecting all my fans and some hdd and the power cable for the hsf musthave been pulled out from me tugging on other cables, well....i booted it up, got into windows and after about 10 mins it shutdown.
I was curious, went into the bios and checked the pc health. The core temp was at 177+F with the heatsink. Go SK-6. Chip worked fine after i plugged the fan back in.
Athlon's can withstand pretty high temps as long as they have a hsf attached. But not to the extremes. Go to tom's guide and find the cpu burn video. athlon's can get really really hot when they burn out.

I think the PSU fan blowing on it might be effecting it but honestly if everything is stable, its fine. I'd wouldn't start worrying till you were over 60 C.
