Should I be a ninjitsu or a kung fu master?

I have been contemplating joining a ninjitsu or kung fu dojo.
Which should I join? What should I lookout for? Can (should) I do both?
Are there any other disciplines I should look at?
Anecdotal experiences?

well, it depends

if you can find a decent wushu (kung fu) school, do that. a good sifu would teach you all about the body, and what to eat etc as well, and condition your body. you could get totally immersed in it...for the rest of your life

if you just want to learn self defence, there are seminars from various diffent special forces around. i would recommend Krav Maga.

I'd suggest a mage. Yeah you wear cloth but no one really wants the task of fighting for main tanks in raids during end game and no one really wants to just sit there and heal, and besides you can do crazy dps with the rights spec. Your gear always looks tight and who doesn't want to shoot fireballs and iceballs out of their hands? Plus you can turn things into sheeps!

Mage is by far the most powerful field of experience, also the most rewarding, that is if you manage somehow to survive the lower levels, wherein the only magic you can do if you really try hard is to prevent yourself from farting after a big meal.

Think about it... what's cooler to tell a chick, "hey, I'm a ninja" or "hey, I knooooow Kuuuung Fuuuu!" I don't even need to tell you for you to realize that ninjas get more ass.

healers are far better then damn wizars or worlocks. they can heal the women when "aunt flow" comes to visit! so no need to worry about earning red wings!

I chose 'other' because you should obviously look into getting into the pirate discipline. Drinking, fighting, and drunken booty raids are what life's all about.

How did WoW come up? I cast Banish (Rank 2) on you WoW threadjackers!!

I'm serious about this. Ninjitsu won in Fight Science didn't it?

I am hoping the Bujinkan dojo here has somewhat more Genbukan or Jinenkan tendencies since Bujinkan is pretty open in terms or how individual dojos train and allow progression.

what does it matter? odds are you are going to go 2-3 times. get tired of it and quite.

just go and check out them all. see if you can join for a few times to see if they are a good fit. find one and stick with it!

Nah, I've always been interested, but school hasn't permitted it. Now I have all the time in the world.
