A girl on my dorm floor is on the verge of breaking up with her BF. Ive had a crush on her since the end of last year, but I assumed she didnt have a BF. At the moment, I am feeling pretty cynical about life and people, and Im just wondering... how bad would it be for me to just give her that nudge I know she needs to call it quits with the old guy?

Right.. thanks.

Go ahead... If she can be nudged to break up with her bf, then obviously she doesnt love him anymore...

But I would be careful about getting it on with her right after she breaks up with her bf... you might become his 'replacement' instead... nothing good ever comes out of this kind of situation if it happens...

Would you want somebody to try to nudge your girlfriend to break up with you?

ANd if she is willing to leave him for you then she will leave you for someone else.

But then again she isn't married to the guy.

You should think how YOU would feel if some dude did that to you.

Yeah as if decent ordinary people dont leave eachother and she's somehow different from everyone else

.

I'd let the dust settle itself LordSegan, there is no need to interfere just because you have a crush. Currently she's attached and her buisness is really none of yours. Be patient, if something is ment to happen then it will.

No. How would you feel if you were going out with a girl, and you were in a rough spot where she wasn't sure if she loved you anymore, and some other guy tried to get her to break up with you, so he could go out with her? Let it go man...if she breaks up with him good for you, if not, too bad.

Exactly. I have a girlfriend, and a month ago we were 'on the verge' of breaking up, in fact we did for a day, and now things are fine again, if some guy had tried to nudge her the other way I would have beaten his ass.

Would really depend on why she was on the verge of breaking up with her bofriend and how close she is

Damn it, find your own woman.

Think of it this way. If she dumps him for you, she's equally likely to dump you for someone else. Do you really want someone like this?

Also, if she breaks up with him, ON HER OWN, then tell her your interested, but don't want it to be a rebound relationship, how about a date in two weeks?

It's COLLEGE. Relationships in college or high school don't count. Go for it. Unless she's married, engaged, or a good friend's woman, she's fair game.
That's what college is for.

I agree with PacFanWeb... she's fair game if there's no ring! I'm doing the same thing at the moment... Apparently this girl is stuck in a rut where she "can't find a better man" (Pearl Jam anyone?), and she thinks I'm a great guy and wants to "get to know me better"... In fact, we have a date tonight (f her b/f!!!). Let's face it, if the girl is unhappy with her current situation, then you have the power to change that with a little "nudge". I wouldn't feel uncomfortable/guilty at all, women are like townhouses: You can rent them until someone buys it. :)

I'm in college and I put more value in my relationship than that. Marriage is a legal agreement, if you are in a long-term relationship, you are still committed to that person, even if your not married.

Deeko,

If your woman finds a better man, then don't be surprised when you get the ax... it's Darwinism as its finest, verdad?

I know if I was in a LT relationship, was suddenly unhappy, and someone better stepped in, it's a no brainer... be very wary if you're in a long term relationship at college, they're worse than the NASDAQ on the volatility scale!

My 2 thoughts:

1) "Homewrecker" => wrecking a home. I'm against going after married women, but I find nothing wrong with letting a girl know that she has other options before she's "tied down."

2) She's on the verge of breaking up with this guy, but that can be a difficult thing to do. There's always thoughts like, "What if I can't find someone else?" Even if you didn't say anything too serious, a little affirmation would probably help her along. She might appreciate it in the end. Her boyfriend might also: if their breaking up is inevitable, it's probably better sooner than later.

The short version: Go for it! (And yes, I've had 2 serious girlfriends.)
