Actually that looks like 160mb ram to me. The second line is his swap file.
 
I think that is 160MB of memory. If so, then 512MB is a good goal to shoot for. 756MB-1GB is even becoming useful in some applications.
 
XP runs fine with 128Mb RAM, and great with 256Mb, unless you have several users logged on simultaneously. 256-512Mb is suffice for most applications.

No way! I noticed a BIG difference in performance between 256 and 512 on XP Pro!
