Its obvious you know nothing about herion or probably any other drug for that matter. You just blindly follow what people have told you. I will probably lose all credibilty by saying this. I am a herion addict. I pay for my drug habit by working. Its hard when the price of it is so inflated from it being illegal. I can't blame anyone but myself for being addicted. The people bringing drugs in are just going after the american dream like people who sell cigarettes or alcohol. Just knowing people actually think like you guys makes me want to steal to support my habit.

I'm not even going to touch this one....way too easy. Go get some help dude, I am serious. I have witnessed drug addiction destroy the lives of people I care about. You may think you are in control but you are not. Please get the proper help. If you think being addicted to heroine is OK then I don't even know what to tell you.

No doubt they pretty much deter everything there. People couldn't even protest this hanging, because protests involving more than a few people are illegal there. Police state FTW!

bullsh!t. protests are not illegal in singapore. I think you have them mixed up with China. however, having the punishment exceed the crime is a better way to deter people thanthe other way around.

I call bullsh1t on your bullsh1t claim! "Unlicensed outdoor protests involving more than four people are illegal here.LINK."

here is the rest of the Law:

Unlawful assembly.
141. An assembly of 5 or more persons is designated an ?unlawful assembly?, if the common object of the persons composing that assembly is ?

(a) to overawe by criminal force, or show of criminal force, the Legislative or Executive Government, or any public servant in the exercise of the lawful power of such public servant;

(b) to resist the execution of any law, or of any legal process;

(c) to commit any mischief or criminal trespass, or other offence;

(d) by means of criminal force, or show of criminal force, to any person, to take or obtain possession of any property, or to deprive any person of the enjoyment of a right of way, or of the use of water or other incorporeal right of which he is in possession or enjoyment, or to enforce any right or supposed right; or

(e) by means of criminal force, or show of criminal force, to compel any person to do what he is not legally bound to do, or to omit to do what he is legally entitled to do.

Well, in our defense we don't put people to death here for selling heroin. For the record, I don't think drugs should be illegal. It is a social problem and prosecuting those who do them or sell them obviously isn't working to curb the problem.

Don't kid yourself, the people brining it in are not just going after the American dream. They are preying on the weak and those they have hooked on their product.

Anyway, I hope you can find the strength to quit. Heroin is a horrible addiction and it will ruin your life.

Exactly, you just proved my point. Groups of more than 4 protesters will be charged with public nuisance or disturbing the peace or any other of numerous laws on the books. So how can you still say protests are not illegal? The fact is that large protests against the government are effectively prohibited in Singapore.

All drug trafficers should be executed in my opinion, I only wish we could do such here in the US. I hope he enjoys that walk to the gallows.
I don't do drug and have a sister that is an addict, however I don?t think you could label all under the single umbrella and execute them all. There are many small mom & pop operations that deals with marijuana and they are no where as violent as organize crime boss that distribute cocaine/heroin

not long ago a white girl from australia got dinged in one of those asian countrys too
Chapelle Corby is serving 15 years (reduced from 20 years) for bringing 4.1 kgs of pot into Bali, Indonesia from Australia. There are late evidents that claiming she was carrying it unknowingly due to unscrupulous baggage handlers, and her case is being appeal at Indonesia federal court.

There are several others cases, however Corby is the only one that make the news because the punishment is harsh to a beauty pagent girl. Another high profile case involved model Michelle Leslie that got busted with 2 ecstasy pills and served 3 months in Indonesia jail.

A separate incident, but the Ausie isn?t innocent with their juridical system. They have faultily accused and jailed foreigners due to poor representative that was provided by the Ausie court. Chika Honda & her companions was one of many such incidents. Chika served 10+ years in Ausi jail due to the heroin that was found in her luggage. They were miss represented by the system, and their defense team didn't listen nor research when told that their luggage was lost during transportation, and was latter found with drugs that were unbeknown to the accused. This act set a precedent for foreign countries to punish Ausie citizens to the fullest of the law of the land with little or no representation.

I don't agree with the punishment in Nguyen case, however that is the law of the land.

He knew his consequences, he took it. It's all about living the life of a poor man that makes you push to do illegal things. Vietnamese or not, he got caught, in one of the worst places :)
