What do you think about drunk driving penalties. Should there be larger repercussions?
According to the US Department of Transportation there were 42,116 fatal collisions in 2001, of which 41% involved alcohol (17,268).
I just think 17,268 is quite a large number and it shouldn't be seen as "acceptable loss".
Edit: fixed the numbers, it was a couple thousand off.
