Should citizens have the right to "strike" against government?

I only bring this up because we see unions threatening strikes in CA if their pensions are touched.

Should the workers be the only party with the ability to strike or should the citizens paying the bills have the same protections?
 
It's called elections, and they do, in the UK Blair was forced to resign, forced to leave without pay and forced to give up any hope about being an important politician, fortunantly for him, his old employers in the US employed him to do... whatever it is he does.

He was finished after the fals data on the invasion of Iraq, perhaps it's only in the US democracy doesn't work right?

However, strikes against slave labor or unsafe working conditions are not only allowed, it's encouraged and the government in any civilised nation will step in to help if that is the case. (note that i said civilised nation, not USA).
 
The type of striking the OP mentions can only be applied to the employer/employee relationship. If one does not exist, then it isn't strking, but civil disobediance.

So what if a government is an employer? Sure, strike. But you had better have a damned good reason. Emergency services or military? A really, really damned good reason.
 
If I had a sweet pay package from Uncle Sam and he was threatening to take it away because it is causing him to go bankrupt... I would strike
 
With 10% unemployment, go ahead and strike. The Cali government should just fire all their asses and replace them with all the people looking for jobs. I'm sure they'll be willing to fill the positions. It's not like most union jobs in cali require any sort of education or special training. Cali can OJT them.
