Where I grew up (Dallas, Tx) it was 1st -> 6th, middle 7th -> 8th, HS 9th - 12th. You start grade school at like 5-6 yrs old (maybe that's when kindergarten starts? that'd push it another year forward), which gets you to 11-13yrs old, depending on birthdays and kindergarten.
Let's put this in a way everyone here can hopefully suddenly come to a logical sense instead of linking stupid YouTube videos as evidence that this is what you should do.... Yes, because personal individual YouTube videos is way more suffice than medical and scientific evidences over the course of multiple participants
Do you support having people marry 8-year olds like they do in Islamic countries? No? Then why would you support someone potentially fucking up the rest of their life with something they could potentially utterly regret in 10 years?
Same goes for marrying an 8-year old, they might be happy and think it's fun at the time, perhaps not so much in 10 years. The purpose of not allowing this is for the protection of the child for a decision that should never be able to be made at an immature age with a developing brain and developing hormones

Not sure why you directed this post at me. I haven't really posted an opinion one way or the other concerning the OP and I damn sure haven't posted any youtube videos.

Some 7 year old boys are taught by their parents that a man died and then came back to life after a couple of days in a cave and that they should thank him for dinner.
Some 7 year old boys are taught by their parents that football is important and he will enjoy football and that they need him to really be enthusiastic when certain teams win.
Some 7 year old boys are taught that its very important that they really should be whoever they want to be and that its ok to play with pink stuff if they really want to play with them so mommy is going to buy lots of girls things for them so she can post on social media that her children do not adhere to social gender norms.
Parent: "Hi. Is this the principals office? I need to pick up my daughter early from school."
Administration: "Ok. Whats her name"
Parent: "Her name? Well its Vikki Smith"
Administration:"We don't have a girl name Vikki Smith"

Fair enough.
While I do agree with most of what you said, I have a hard time saying that simply dressing your kid a different way at 8 will lead to lifelong impairments. More importantly, I don't like the .gov getting involved in how we raise our kids any more than absolutely necessary so I'd still be on the fence about forcing the parents one way or the other.

Why? It's a very well known fact but did you know that it's not genetic... AT ALL? Women with XY CAIS are genetically male but they would have a female brain because of the hormones.
People have gotten stuck on this bullshit that genetics somehow affects your brain in behavioural senses when it's not true in the least, sociobiology has been a dead science in every nation but the US and Saudi Arabia since the 1980's but it's still going strong in those two nations and for the exact same reason. It's an excuse that religious fundies use to justify their abhorrent beliefs.
I hate Google for other reasons but you are acting like they have something against reality which they sure as hell do not.
