Found the shelving at an Organized Living shop (lots of cool organizing stuff there...anal retentives rejoice! 😀 )

Need to make room for two more machines in there, though. Hmmm...

This is a stupid question, but why does everyone always have 2 hubs / switches / network devices who have posted their pics? I have 2, you have 2, dnetmhz has 2. and on all three of us, neither of the 2 switching devices were full.

I know my reason, just wondering about everyone elses 🙂

🙂

Well, I have a Linksys 4-port router (the cable modem goes to that) and I have one machine hooked up to the hub portion (my laptop). The Cisco switch is full (uplink from the Linksys to the Cisco and then 7 more PCs - one is not visible as it's behind my TV in the living room 😀 )

I really need to get my basement cleaned out and move these down there (it'll be cooler on them, too). It's quite loud in the dining room now 😀 Even after laying my 55" Mitsubishi's screen protector across the front (leaving room for airflow).

I have a Lynksys broadband router/4 port switch with a 3Com 12 port switch uplinked into it. 😀

There's something about an open port on a switch that makes me want to plug another PC in. 😀

And the reason for the delay is????

😀

Nice setup! 😀

Maybe Mrs. Engineer is going to be nice to me and let me get a new pet...or at least put a new tail on the one I already have! 😀

To Ray...buwhahahaaahahahaahahahahaahahahaha! :Q

$$ & Mrs. Ray & $$ & MrFLuffy, who wants to go to DeVry starting in July, and he thinks I ought to pay for it :Q

😉😉😉

😀

Oh, & BTW very nice setup! 😀

Dude that is cool. My wife would kill me if I wanted to do that..... She thinks im crazy for converting my 3 car garage into a 10X13 room for three computers. She would flip if I added one more computer. I guess that is why I have an office at work....HA HA HA HA

those boxes are pretty nice looking... gateways?

my roommate has been wanting baker's racks for a while, where'd you get those?

and an ipaq!?! i've wanted to mess around with one of those. if i wasn't a gamer i'd get one and an LCD and have nothing on or under my desk.

haha, I like the night shot.. 🙂

add a lil' tinsel and you got your christmas tree for all the
presents next year.. already money in the bank 😛

Those steel adjustable shelves are great.. got a smaller silver version
and it's a champ.. holds my scanner, printer, and case.. last year it was
a tv stand.. Good times, good times..

you know those things stack up.. time to "remodel" that ceiling.. 🙂

nice setup, conjur!

Those machines on the right are Gateways. The far right is a model 7400 (it's about 28" deep! :Q ) so it hangs out the back a bit 🙂 The other two are 6400s (courtesy the Anandtech deal of 2001! 😀 ) I still have one 6400 on loan that I need to get back.

As far as the racks, I got them at Organized Living (which I'm assuming is a chain retail shop that we just recently had open here in town). I'd looked at Home Depot and other places like that but could only find that closet wire basket stuff (not strong enough and don't look so hot either).

No tools required for putting them together and that rack probably was about $100 total (bought a bunch of other stuff there, too, so not sure how it broke down but that's pretty close). It's three 18"x48" shelves with four 63" posts. And, the monitor shelf has a solid piece of <whatever>wood for a smooth surface (need to get another one for the top shelf, too, and another basket or two to hang off the side).

The Mrs. said "looks much better"! 😀😀

Yeah, well mine would complain about all the cables. 🙂

Nice, though.

Well, for numbers of switches, I actually have 4. :Q I have more than one, because occasionally I host LAN parties, and I do fill up lots of ports! 😀 Also, I keep extra switches on hand for a) backup spares(both for me and clients) and b) for taking to LAN parties elsewhere.

I'll be visiting Bed, Bath, and Beyond this weekend and get one of those racks! Definitely will make my room neater with all my cables tie-wrapped. 🙂

Nice setup 🙂

I need to get a digital camera, then i'll take a photo of my setup here, similar stuff, but mine is in chrome 🙂

ElFenix, i have an iPaq as well, got them cheap through my college, supposed to be a "tool to enhance our learning". We used them for a couple of months playing NES games and MP3s, and not any notes, then not used them since!
