Wow that was a great short story, the guys vivid use of language and technical writing is superb. he really pulls the reader in.

I got pulled into a coma from reading that garble. MS Word's thesaurus FTW?

The cave story was actually ripped off of another similar cave story that had an ending. If you search for the original thread on here you can read it. The ending is incredibly lame though. The story is much better when you are left to wonder why there is no ending.

err..no its not.

i'd rather have something to end it, like a message from the guy's parents saying that he never returned from the cave, than to be left hanging like that.

go through all that BS only to not get any kind of ending?
The point is that its supposed to be a journal and they dont return from the cave! Read the whole thing next time.

I do kinda wish they'd provided an epilogue of some kind. Apparently the story is adapted from a short story that has an outlandish ending, but the short story doesn't seem to be available online anywhere nowadays.

I read some old comments on some forums online (google "ted the caver") and there are some interesting details showing the origin of this story.

Apparently there is more to the story, and people have read the rest of it, but the links are too old to get the rest of it 🙁

Likely a fake story, still a good read. I don't necessarily doubt that something like this could happen. We only know so much about earth.

Alright, I found the original thread but the link to the story is dead. I tried searching on google for the story but I can't find it anywhere.

Here is the original thread:

EDIT: A-ha, found it:

Link to original story (apparently)
