Went on a short trip with a friend (in his turbocharged Elise) from LA to Paso Robles. Might head up to Monterey. Lots of great roads, windy and little traffic.
I'd forgotten how much fun just getting out and driving was.
Driving through Ford Hunter Liggett Army Reserve Training Base (open to public):
On Nacimiento-Fergusson Road, connecting Fort Hunter Liggett to Highway 1. It's a 25 mile road that's SUPER narrow and really windy. It climbs in elevation for half of it, then back down. The drawback is there are some blind curves (gotta honk to let people know you're coming), some small rocks and dirt, and some patches of bumpy road. Overall, it's well maintained though.
Thanks guys, it was lots of fun. Definitely need to get away and drive more often. Next time, perhaps need to replace those DOT-R's. Kinda funny, 6k miles and 3rd set of tires.
