When I turn it on and try to open the cd rom it won't. How do I go about getting the driver installed for the cd.

Just load the generic cd-rom driver off the Win98 startup floppy.

How do I do that if the system says Bootable CD does Not exist? I have tried to boot to some sort of prompt but to no avail

Have you tried making a start up disk? Of course that is assuming that you are running win9x.

Does the cd-rom power light come on when you start the system? If it doesn't you could have a loose power connection.

Is the Cd-rom listed in your hardware?
start-settings-control panel-system?

Need more information to help troubleshoot.

I think I figured it out. It's Aopen 48x and the tray still didn't open after I got 98 installed with another rom. I installed the driver too, but still no luck. I think it just does not work.
