I'm currently in the market for a TV-plus-remote as well as MP3 player (or ipod...though I suspect MP3s are more in my budget range.
Also need speakers & dock (uh... do speakers work without a dock?What the heck is the dock for? I know what my thinkpad's dock does. It provides for more USB connections, DVD burner, etc., but are MP3 docks a different ballgame?

The TV must be no more than 20" and be cheap - say $100.
Would the old-fashiioned analog kind be feasible? Would that work in future as well?

I have no idea how to go about shopping for these.
Is there any forum for archaics such as me, to get advice?
 
I had tried AVS. They didn't help me (no response).

Apparently, they're only geared to non-dummies.

BTW, I'm finding Anand forums difficult to use.

I always choose never to remain logged in (I prefer minimal cookies), and whenever I receive email notifications of responses on Anandtech I find the user interface does not let me respond easily.

I don't experience as much difficulty with other forums. With other forums, I can just click the link & easily respond even if I hadn't remained logged in.
