The time it took me to get a tux for a wedding, 20 minutes. Time it took for my girlfriend to get a dress, about 5 hours.

Hate going shopping with a girl.

Wow, your gf found a dress in 5 hours? My daughter's been trying on dresses at different stores for a couple of months. You're lucky.

girls wouldn't ask you to go shopping, if you guys would just fork over the credit card on the first asking.

Taught my b/f that one early. I get credit cards, he got to go for beers. In the end, he just called up his credit card companies and told them to give me my own damn cards, with my own damn name, on his account because it was only the odd occasion that he got his card back!

Seriously though, five hours for a wedding dress if remarkably short!

you should've told her that you wanted to be surprised and that you'd love her in anything that she wears, that way she can't say "but i want you to give me an opinion"

Real men don't shop... they grab the size and style pants they wear, grab the size shirt they wear, and get the hell out. Dressing rooms? WTF are those for?

You're not supposed to shop for the Dress with her. WTH are you thinking? She's supposed to go with her mom or your mom or some girlfriends or something. Obviosuly you're whipped, the ball & chain is alreayd on, and we know who wears the pants in Your family....

I wholeheartedly agree. I never use the dressing rooms to try on stuff, unless it's expensive (like a suit) or if I just feel like trying on stuff. My wife just window shops until she finds one that she likes. Last week, she saw a summer dress at Anne Taylor, which looked fabulous on her. She didn't end up buying it because it costed $165 :)

Let me guess. You held her purse while she was trying on some dresses.

Your g/f should have really gone shopping with her friends rather than with you.

Us guys would give you the cards, if you wouldn't come back $210 later with a bunch of crap you already have, just in different colours (no, mrsskoorb doesn't do that, but most of her friends do. I wouldn't give them a card either).

Yup. The problem with the scenario presented is that if a guy gives his gf the cards, usually he cant go out for beers, he needs to go to his second job to afford the CC bills.

How exactly would you describe this "arrangement"?

Hahaha!!

He is very old fashioned. He goes to work, brings home the money and it is my responsibility to make sure that it is spent correctly and that it is saved/invested correctly. We live together, own a home together and he doesnt want the repsonsibility to deal with money after he earns it.

He thinks that a man should take care of a woman and I think it is important not to take advantage. Obviously, if I were buying sill stuff and wasting it, he would be a fool to keep forking it over.

:)
