System Specs:
Radeon X800 Pro
2800+ 64Bit
MSI K8N Neo Mobo
1GB Corsair XMS

I'm planning on getting an LCD for lans because carting my 19" NEC FE991SB CRT is a nightmare everytime I get the urge to want to go to LAN. I was looking at the Samsung 910T and the Dell 1905FP. I play FPS games and the number one game that I currently play is World of Warcraft. Money not being an issue... what should I get?

pretty much. Dell has that Dellf game going on, where you can win a 25% off coupon and save yourself 200 bucks off the 2001FP. I'm getting ready to buy one with a coupon myself. Cart is telling me 638.21 total.

Viewsonic VP192B, 19" 12ms, 1280 x 1024 (which would be an ideal res. for an X800 Pro, esp. with eye candy like AA/AF turned on)

Check out the sony SDM-HS94P/B at jr.com After rebate it's 549.99 shipped. It may be OOS. depending on the color(silver or black). It has 12ms reponse time. I'm probably getting this one, unless I can find a better deal on the Dell 2005 widescreen(about 680 shipped with taxes)

straight up? The Sony HS94P/B or S or the Viewsonic 912B. Both share the same type of LCD screen and technology; Xbrite type of technology which makes everythign look super crisp, bright, and clear. both have 12ms. You can get a better deal on the Sony right now, (CompUSA $699-$100 instant rebate-$100 manuf rebate= $499.99). The viewsonic is $700 everywhere. I personally have the sony hs94p, and it's bomb diggity.

Nevermind, I mis-read your post and I was looking for the viewsonic for at compusa. I can find the sony at compusa but it's 599$....where do you get the other 100 off? So far jr.com has the best deal I've been able to find.

I just took a look on CompUSA.com and apparently, they just sold out of the Sony HS94P's. Because I bought mine just a couple weeks ago. and a compusa near me had 7 of them in stock that day, and that day, sold out of them all. I bought the second to last one, and someone behind me in line at the register bought the last one. CompUSA had them for $699 - INSTANT $100 rebate - The Regular $100 Manufacturer's rebate. which makes it $499.99. This kind of deal is bound to happen again, so i'd wait.

OK....that's about equivalent if you get it at jr.com....if you look at the fact that you pay tax on 599$ (say 8.5% in Chicago where I live= about 51$) $699-100+51-100=$550 At jr.com you pay 549.99 shipped with no tax....I'm just saying. I guess I'll just go with jr. Good deal either way.

Samsung 910T LCD... Over twice the contrast ratio of the ViewSonic. I used to be all about using ViewSonic LCD's and such, but the Samsung 910T has converted me. Also consider how the 910T is now only $475 (on newegg.com) which makes it the best LCD in it's price range (or even close to it).

I was gonna buy the 910t. But i decided otherwise after seeing too many people complaining about ghosting in games. 25ms vs 12ms is a big difference. but the 910t is still a really good monitor. but when comparing to the viewsonic 912b or the sony hs94p, the 912b and hs94p are better. especially when you're talking about pc gaming.

I just bought the Dell 2005 for 588 shipped including taxes. It was 20% off but I got a 25%+3% fatwallet code off of ebay for 3$ and found a stackable coupon for another 45$. It's only about 40$ more than the sony. I am not a fan of dell computers, but I couldn't resist this deal.

Thanks. I'm not sure if I'll (remember to) get the fatwallet 3% back, but I don't really care too much. I wonder if I could "debadge" the monitor and take the Dell name off. That's the topic of another search, I guess.

Personally, I wouldn't trust the items found on ebay. While you can get good items, you never know until it arrives. Plus, some items, even brand new, have their warranties removed when purchased either from ebay or any third party online store (not an official seller).

I won't [ever] own dell systems. I was given one, which I quickly reconfigured (got rid of ALL the dell software/crap on it) and gave to one of my aunt's that needed a computer to learn on. IF I was ever given another dell item, I'd quickly turn around and sell it. Some poor sap will buy it, and I won't have to worry about it. I'd then use that money to either build myself a new system, or get some upgrades for ones I have.

He bought the coupon, not the monitor off of ebay. I dont think the $3 he paid is too big of a risk

Right. The transaction was instantaneous! I got the code right away. I have no idea how this guy got them, he had over a hundred when I got mine. He must be dating that Dellf chick!

Riiiiiight... why would you buy a coupon, let alone one off of ebay?? That's right up there with people selling (and other people buying) old toe nails on ebay...

Buying a coupon off ebay that can save you over $200.00... I dont think that is the same as buying a toe nail LOL.

I checked out the seller's feedback and history. He sold a bunch of those coupons to people and he had a 100% positive feedback with comments. Even though it was already 20% off, I spent another 2.98$ to save about $50. Don't really see your comparison to a toenail.
